The Cobblers

Session 20: Lab Rats

After clearing out the jail cell, The Cobblers proceed more cautiously into the cave. They find a room filled with black power, a half flooded, foul smelling cave, the entrance to lab, and the main quarters of the Necromancer. There they find Kaheel chained up to the bed. He tells the group he chained himself up because the necromancer told him he would help curse him of his lycanthropy. They find that the chain is magical and any attemps to remove the chain would end up in a loss of limb. They also find that the chain suppresses Kaheels urges to transform.

Kie-pear and Kerjiit find letters detailing the necromancers secrets along with a common name in both: Illiyanna Doren, one of the members of the consortium of six.

Finding a switch that controls the lab, The Cobblers enter it only to find it occupied with a flesh golem… a golem that is actually a container for a black pudding. They make quick work of the creature.

Items found in session: Universal Solvent, Glue, Angel Hair Bow String, two letters.

Session 19: A Necromancer's Secrets

After bagging the head of Thoril the Necromancer, The Cobbler’s decide to join up with The Howl’s Bane. They head towards the highborn district to meet with the leaders of the city also known as the Consortium of 6. Leading the consortium is a snobbish gnome who informs the party that only half the reward will be given and even less than that for not finding where the Necromancer has his lair.

There is also trouble in town with several werewolves or weretigers. 2 new jobs are made for each group to choose:

Look for Thorils hideout and destroy any evidence of his work, but any important documents should be returned.
Find and destroy the werewolves plaguing the city.

The Howl’s Bane (already annoyed at the buracratic red tape of not getting fully paid) decide to find the werewolves.

The Cobblers head North to find Thoril’s hideout. Before they depart Soren of the Howls Bane says Thoril may be hiding at an abandoned Goliath Village since that is the only thing if importance up there.

It takes 3 days to if traveling during which the party was attack by a giant, but was quickly dispatched by Phelaia. Kie-Pear decides its a good idea to harvest a giants finger. They hurl the body off the side of the mountain which hits with a loud thud.

They find the abbandoned village and see that there are foot prints that lead into a cave. Inside the cave they find jail cells littered with bodies. Nella spies a silver necklace with a saphire gem in its center and decides she wants it. As Kie-Pear reaches out to get it for her, the bodies come to life! A bloody, gore filled battle ensues. During the chaos an undead minotaur comes charging into the fold, goring Konowa’s panther, Lamor.

The battle is long and harsh, but they come out victorious.

For her win she receives a trophy and a bardic instrument, The Cli Lyre. After the fight, the party decides to finally look for Archmage Pycell. They find him at a small house at the end of the road. Session 16: Seasick Songs 3/19/16

On board the Sovereign, The Cobblers learn that the trip which usually takes two weeks would take only one since Captain John knows of a quick sea route through a canal. During their trip they begin having strange dreams. The day they are to arrive at Othalion Castle, Captain John seems to go mad and attempts to crash the ship into the jagged rocks of the canal. He then runs down into the hull. The cobblers give chase and find out the mercenaries have an aboleth in tow. They attempt to suppress the aboleth and the charmed mercenaries, but they fail. The aboleth escapes by making a hole in the ship. Though the ship is damaged, it makes it to port.

The Cobblers decide to interrogate the mercs who explain the aboleth was for Maximus Gustavio, the Master of Arms for the town of Eliond, the same town they are headed towards. They convince the mercs to simply try catching another one since there is no time limit for them.

After 2 days of travel via the wagon of Farmer McDonald of Othalion Castle, the group make it to Eliond. Yet on the road they learn that there is a celebration in Eliond for soldiers returning from war. The soldiers are from the Sune Army, the same army that Kie-Pear was from. Session 14: Difficult Decisions

Upon arriving at the Maji’s Tower, Maji Medina offers them each a gift: sending stones in the form of earings made out of the teeth of a blue basalisk. He then leads them to the infirmary where the group finds Commander Stormcloak seated next to a comatose Prince Eoden. The Maji tells them that the prince is touched by evil and gives the group a choice: Wipe the Prince memory clean, essensially giving him a new identity or killing him, thus ridding any chance of other cultist from using his body and blood for their own.

The group chooses the latter and it is Leana who ends his life with a dagger across the throat.

As maji servants wrap up the body for disposal, the Tower is rocked by an explosion. The group rushes towards the commotion to see a giant winged demon made of bone step from out teleportation circle. Majo Medina tells them to stall for time has he tries to reverse polarity of the portal. It is a hard fight with Kie-Pear falling unconcious and Leana falling to fits of laughter, but the party are able to repell the attack and send the demon back to its hellish plane (albeit in half).

As night falls the party meet up with Commander Stormcloak to ride back to Zarrafel Castle. They find that the cultist are replaced by soldiers from Myant. They then raid the armory and find a journal of King Eoden detailing his selling of his soul for power. They also find a stash of gold coins and a pan pipe with mouse decorations.

Leana comes out of her hiding place and decides it is safe to leave. As she tries the door, multiple doors appear. She rushes upstairs to look out a window only to find a dark fog covering her view. She starts to laugh uncontrolably and wonders if any of this has to with the necklace she wears. She puts it back on the pedalstal but as she walks away, she instantly goes blind. At once she hears a voice, “fitting punishment for a thief.” someone grabs her and puts the necklace around her neck and her vision returns. That someone is the owner of the house, Maji Medina. They are to take part in four trials all seemingly harder than the rest. the first trial consist of undead humanoids, the second a water elemental, the third a scorpion and a jelly cube and finally finishing with a minotaur and a oni. The fight is long and hard, but they are successful. Maji Medina meets with them and teleports them to the Maji Tower.
